Julia Johnson’s love of multiple dog sports began in 2012 with a rescued Maltese. After completing a very basic obedience course and then obtaining a CGC title. While healing around cones and the instructor said, “This dog could do rally”. She asked, "What is rally?" and so the dog sports journey began: rally, obedience, flyball, and FCAT. He was the first Maltese to earn points in FCAT.
While training to trial in beginner obedience, there were two Aussies training in the same building, and Julia fell in love with the breed. Her first Aussie has titles in herding, dock diving, rally, obedience, agility, flyball, barn hunt, FCAT, and fetch. He has his RACH, RATCHX2, and UD. In FCAT in 2019 he was the fastest Aussie in the country and remains in the top five lifetime. He is currently retired.
Additionally, she has trained her toy poodle in rally and FCAT. She is currently training/trialing her young Aussie in rally, obedience, flyball, FCAT, and barn hunt.
Julia has shown at the RNC, received multiple invitations in several sports to compete at the classic with her Maltese and both Aussies.
Julia’s passion for rally led her to pursue a role as a rally judge. She truly enjoys watching wonderful teams working in the ring. It is an honor to judge for the BCHC.
